Where Quality Coins Begin.

BLANKER manufactures ready-for-striking coin blanks and semi-finished products for circulating coins, offering consistent quality, advanced materials, and reliable solutions for the minting industry.

Our role is simple:
be a technological partner when tolerances are tight,
die life matters, and millions of strikes
must behave exactly the same.

Our portfolio ranges from traditional coinage alloys to advanced multilayer and surface-treated solutions, developed according to best practices used by leading manufacturers in the industry.

Focus

Batch-to-Batch Repeatability

We manufacture ready-for-striking coin blanks for circulating coins, precisely produced according to customer specifications, including:

Materials & Material Concepts

We work with materials commonly used in circulating coinage, including:

Copper-based
and non-ferrous alloys

Nordic Gold, CuNi, aluminium bronze and other alloys

Stainless steel, aluminium
and technical metals

for specific circulation requirements

Steel blanks with platings

Cu / Ni / brass, including single- and multi-layer systems

Bimetallic solutions

(core and ring for bi-color coins), tailored to coin design and mint specifications

Technologies & Processing

For reliable striking performance, a coin blank must have the correct internal structure, a clean surface, and stable mechanical properties. Our production is therefore based on precisely controlled and repeatable processes, from material preparation to final surface finishing.

Heat Treatment (Annealing)

To achieve target hardness, relieve internal stresses, and ensure stability during striking

Rimming / Upsetting

To form a uniform raised edge prior to striking

Cleaning, Degreasing and Brightening

For a clean, uniform and residue-free surface

Electrolytic Platings (Cu / Ni / Brass)

Available as single- or multi-layer systems, including mono- and bi-color options

Surface Quality & Visual Consistency

Surface quality is a critical factor in circulating coin production, directly influencing coin appearance, die wear, and reject rates during striking. At BLANKER, surface finishing is treated as a controlled technical process, not a cosmetic afterthought. Every parameter is designed to ensure stable and predictable behaviour during high-volume minting.
Uniform surface appearance and controlled micro-roughness

We maintain a consistent surface structure across all blanks by precisely controlling forming, finishing, and brightening processes. Micro-roughness is optimised to support reliable metal flow during striking, reduce die stress, and ensure a uniform visual appearance of the finished coin.

Clean surfaces free of lubricants and oxides

All blanks undergo multi-stage cleaning and degreasing processes to eliminate residual lubricants, oxides, and contaminants. This ensures optimal die contact during striking, prevents surface defects, and supports long die life and low rejection rates.

Stable colour and batch-to-batch repeatability

Colour stability is achieved through controlled material selection, surface treatment, and plating parameters. Strict process discipline ensures that visual appearance, tone, and reflectivity remain consistent across production batches — a key requirement for circulating coinage.

Serial production with fully controlled parameters

Our production is designed for high-volume serial manufacturing with full control over critical parameters, including hardness, thickness, diameter, and weight. Continuous monitoring and process stability ensure that each blank meets specification and behaves predictably throughout the striking process.

Flexibility for Mint Requirements

Every circulating coin program has different constraints – technical, economic, and logistical. BLANKER provides flexibility without compromising process discipline.

In practice, this means:

Whether the priority is cost efficiency, durability, appearance, or supply stability, we adapt the solution not the quality standard.
